5/3/02 HOM Captures Daredevil

House of Moves will be putting the mocap moves in the much-anticipated video game, Daredevil.

Daredevil, one of Marvel Comics' most popular characters, created by Stan Lee in 1964, is published by Encore and developed by 5000ft.

"We needed not just realistic motion, but something 'hyper-real'," says art director, Joey Elardy at 5000ft about the decision to go with motion capture for the game.

5000ft will incorporate into the game hundreds of motions, in conjunction with keyframe animation, that House of Moves will capture and deliver.

"Daredevil is the perfect application for our motion capture technology. We are able to capture a huge amount of data in a very short amount of time, making the whole process smooth, efficient and cost effective," says Jarrod Phillips, VP of sales and marketing for HOM.

HOM's Diva software will be used by the mocap house to generate the hyper-realistic digital motion.

House of Moves has also provided mocap work on films such as Spider-Man and Titanic, and for hundreds of interactive games.
