It’s back to the future this week as The Jetsons, Season 2 Vol. 1 comes to DVD.
The new release (Warner Bros., $34.98) features 21 episodes original broadcast in 1984-85 on three discs. It also features several bonus features, including a documentary called ‘The Jetsons: Return to the Future’ featuring interviews with writers, animators, historians, cast and crew.
Here’s a look at a couple clips from the release:
Coming to Blu-ray for the first time is Dragon’s Lair II: Time Warp (Digital Leisure, $39.95), the 1991 animated videogame sequel to the original arcade game Dragon’s Lair. The film, directed by Don Bluth, has been fully restored for the Blu-ray release, with a 5.1 audio mix and new HD features added, including interviews with game creators Bluth and Gary Goldman, a video commentary, the ability to watch the animation without playing the game and behind-the-scenes animation features.
Other animated offerings include the six-disc Peanuts Deluxe Collection (Warner Bros., $99.62) and Kids Cartoon Pack (Echo Bridge, $9.99).
Additional home video releases of note include Joss Whedon’s online superhero musical Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog (New Video, $14.95), Defiance (Paramount Vantage, $30.99 DVD, $39.99 Blu-ray), the comedy He’s Just Not That Into You (New Line, $28.98 DVD, $35.99 Blu-ray) and Revolutionary Road (Paramount Vantage, $30.99 DVD, $39.99 Blu-ray).
