Totoro Arrive on Video

Disney's successful Lilo &
Stitch tops this week's list of home video releases. The animated
adventures of a girl who befriends an alien sent to conquer Earth
features the voices of Daveigh Chase, Tia Carrere, Ving Rhames,
David Ogden Stiers, Jason Scott Lee, Zoe Caldwell, Kevin McDonald
and Kevin Michael Richardson.
DVD extras include deleted
scenes presented in various stages of animation, four theatrical
teaser trailers called "InterSTITCHals," new InterSTITCHals created
exclusively for home entertainment, behind-the-scenes with country
star Wynonna singing and talking about Elvis and the film, the I
Can't Help Falling in Love With You music video performed by
A-Teens, Create Your Own Alien Experiment Game, a Hula lesson and
the featurettes The Look of Lilo and Stitch, Animating
the Hula and On Location With the Directors
Warner Bros.' The Adventures of
Pinocchio, the latest animated telling of the classic tale about
a wooden puppet who longs to be a real boy also hits video shelves
today. The film introduces new characters and original songs. An
interactive coloring book is included for PCs equipped with a DVD-ROM
drive. This release comes just prior to the highly anticipated theatrical
release of Roberto Benigni's live-action Pinocchio.
With his latest masterpiece,
Spirited Away, enjoying critical acclaim and brisk business
in limited North American theatrical release, celebrated director
Hayo Miyazaki's 1988 hit My Neighbor Totoro also makes its
way to DVD.

Behind the Scenes at Walt Disney
Studios offers a peek behind
the curtain of the world's most famous magic factory. In addition
to a video tour of the studio, this release offers a unique look
at art of classic animation and how animated films and characters
are brought to life. Exclusive introductions by film historian Leonard
Maltin take viewers through the rich Disney history that began in
1937. The DVD also invites fans to rediscover the 1941 feature,
The Reluctant Dragon.
Other Disney releases debuting on
home video today are the Walt Disney Treasures issues of
Complete Goofy and Mickey Mouse in Black and White,
both in limited edition tin packaging.
