‘The Hobbit’ Trilogy Completes its Journey Home

The final battle is coming home at last to complete the collection of J.R.R. Tolkein fans everywhere with the release of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (Warner Bros., $44.95, 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD and digital copy; $44.95 Blu-ray, DVD and digital copy; $28.98 DVD).

The final installment in director Peter Jackson’s trilogy adapting the beloved Tolkein fantasy novel features, as usual, hours of bonus materials going behind the scenes on the making of the movie. The absolute final piece in Jackson’s puzzle will be the extended edition of The Battle of the Five Armies, which is expected for release in early November.

Younger viewers can check out Suzy’s Zoo: A Day with Witzy (PBS, $6.99 DVD), while anime fans can pick from Pokemon Black & White Adventures in Unova & Beyond Set 2 (VIZ Media, $26.95 DVD), Bokurano: The Complete Series (ADA, $49.95 DVD) and Armitage Movie Collection: Armitage III Classic 2 (FUNimation, $29.98 DVD).
