Relaunched ‘Cosmos’ Lands on Home Video

The most unexpectedly awesome use of animation this year comes home with the release of Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey (Fox, $59.99 Blu-ray, $49.98 DVD). The revival of the classic Carl Sagan science series is executive produced by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane and features some excellent animated sequences developed and produced by Kara Vallow and executed by Six Point Harness. If you like your toons a little more traditional, there’s always Transformers Animated: Season Three (Shout! Factory, $14.97), Wild Kratts: Tiny Trouble (PBS, $9.99), Winx Club: The Complete Original Season 2, Volume 1 — Shadow Phoenix (Cinedigm Entertainment, $16.95) or WordGirl: Monkey Business (PBS, $9.99) to keep you occupied.

For the anime enthusiast, this week sees the release of Yu-Gi-Oh Classic: Season 5, Volume 3 (Cinedigm Entertainment, $19.95) and Deltora Quest: The Complete Series (Cinedigm Entertainment, $79.95).
