Whether or not Arnold Schwarzenegger becomes the governor of California on October 7, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines will be released on DVD November 11. Sales of the disc should be high no matter what, but the added PR of Arnold’s run will be gravy for Warner Home Video’s marketing push. The third chapter of the Terminator franchise has taken in $150 million at the domestic box office to date.
“The release of Terminator 3 extends the movie experience with cutting-edge special features,” promises Jim Cardwell, president of Warner Home Video. “The DVD will transport fans to the future with a one-of-a-kind experience.”
The DVD special features include: Commentaries by helmer Jonathan Mostow and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Nick Stahl, Claire Danes and Kristanna Loken; new footage not in the final film; an on-set gag reel; the T3 Visual Effects Lab, four interactive EFX labs that let viewers build their own action sequences; alternate film trailers; and trailers for the vid and PC games.
