Stars of primetime TV Nathan Fillion (Castle) and Tim Daly (Private Practice) will reprise their cartoon roles as Green Lantern and Superman in a new DC Universe Animated Original Movie titled Justice League: Doom, which Warner Home Video has slated for an early 2012 release. Fillion made his Green Lantern debut in Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, while Daly has played the Man of Steel in Superman: The Animated Series and DCU films Superman/Batman: Public Enemies and Superman/Batman: Apocalypse.
Doom, directed by Lauren Montgomery and exec produced by Bruce Timm, finds Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Cyborg and Batman scrambling to stop a team of supervillains who have discovered the “contingency plan” to stop any rogue Justice League member. The late Dwayn McDuffie (All-Star Superman, Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths) penned the script, inspired by Mark Waid’s JLA: Tower of Babel story.
Fillion and Daly are joined by other animated Justice League alums: Kevin Conroy (Batman), Michael Rosenbaum (Flash), Susan Eisenberg (Wonder Woman), Carl Lumby (Martian Manhunter) and David Kaufman (Jimmy Olsen) reprise their roles, with Bumper Robinson joining the cast as Cyborg. In the baddies corner, returning talents are: Phil Morris (Vandal Savage), Olivia d’Abo (Star Sapphire) and Alexis Denisof (Mirror Master). Additional villains will be voiced by Carlos Alazraqui (Bane), Paul Blackthorne (Metallo) and Claudia Black (Cheetah).
