Farscape Fans DVD Fix Getting Nearer

The second season of the Sci Fi channel’s hit series Farscape will be available on DVD four days before Halloween 2003. The set from ADV Films will include all 22 episodes.

Since its debut in 1999, Farscape has built a large, devoted fan base. The show currently airs in the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Brazil, Sweden, France and Australia. Farscape is also a successful merchandising franchise, with popular action figures, video games, comic books, novels, clothing and apparel, and other items currently being manufactured by top licensees.

The series has been called “The Best Sci-Fi on TV” by TV Guide, and hailed as “TV’s Best Space Series” by USA Today. Additional accolades include winning the Saturn Award for Best Syndicated/Cable Television Series for three years running, most recently in 2003.

Farscape: The Complete Season Two is a DVD-only box set containing ten discs in six DVD cases. It’s in English, with 5.1 and 2.0 Dolby Surround Audio. The release is loaded with extras including deleted scenes audio commentaries, the Farscape dictionary, actor biographies, main character back-stories and a catalog of aliens encountered, weapons, ships and alien races. The series is a co-prododuction of Jim Henson Television, Hallmark Ent. and Nine Networks. Street date is October 28, 2003. The suggested retail price is $149.98.
