Charlie Brown, Signs Debut on DVD

Paramount Home Video today released the 1975 animated television special Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown on DVD. Years of Valentine’s Day Peanuts comic strips by Charles Schulz come to life in this classic story that has our hero unlucky in love and unable to profess his admiration for the elusive “little red-haired girl.” The disc includes two bonus episodes, You’re in Love, Charlie Brown and It’s Your First Kiss, Charlie Brown. Suggested retail price is $19.99.

Also hitting video shelves today is M. Night Shyamalan’s latest hit Signs. Featuring visual effects by ILM, this supernatural thriller stars Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix as brothers who discover mysterious crop circles on their farmland. Walt Disney Home Video is releasing the DVD as part of its Vista Series. Special features include a six-part documentary exploring the making of the movie from idea to marketing, five deleted scenes, storyboards with multi-angle capability and Shyamalan’s first alien film. Lists for $29.99 DVD and $22.99 VHS.
