Hollywood’s newest “it” couple, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, received a special gift from director Kevin Smith on the last day of shooting for their upcoming film, Jersey Girl. Smith commissioned Austin, Tex.-based Powerhouse Animation Studios Inc. to create an animated video game titled “Jen Saves Ben.”
In addition to the animated likeness of the soon-to-be-wed duo, the arcade-style game features cinematics with dialogue written by Smith, who also makes an animated appearance along with mutual pal Matt Damon. The Clerks and Chasing Amy director previously had Powerhouse create customized arcade games featuring characters from his films for his Redbank, New Jersey comic book shop, Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash.
While the game will not be available for the home gaming market, Powerhouse assures that you don’t have to be “Jenny from the block” or People Magazine‘s “Sexiest Man Alive” to have yourself featured in a video game. For a price, Powerhouse Animation can create customized arcade kiosks featuring one-of-a-kind animated games for anyone. They can even take your favorite CDs and add a juke box feature. Good luck getting Kevin Smith to write the script, though.
