Warner Bros. has made a $33 million offer to buy the assets of videogame company Midway.
The offer would land Warner the popular Midway game series Mortal Kombat and the company’s studios in Chicago and Seattle, reports the website MCV. The deal would live studios in England and San Diego and the TNA game series on the table.
Midway filed for bankruptcy protection earlier this year, and the deal with Warner Bros. needs to be approved by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court before proceeding. The court also could consider rival bids, with The Washington Post reporting that French game studio Ubisoft may also be interested in Midway’s assets.
