The folks at Telltale Games and Aardman Animation have just released a cinematic teaser trailer, character renders and concept art for the upcoming episodic Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Adventures games. Based in San Rafael, Calif, Telltale’s other popular titles include the award-winning Sam & Max series and Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People, debuting soon on WiiWare and PC.
Based on Nick Park’s beloved characters, Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures will allow players to assume the roles of both the quirky inventor and his faithful pooch. Each episode will explore a vivid world, assembling intricate contraptions, and getting the duo out of the sticky situations they frequently find themselves in. The new trailer, artwork, and additional information about the series can be found at www.telltalegames.com/wallaceandgromit.
“Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures extends our vision for delivering new kinds of entertainment to everyone who enjoys a good story,” says Telltale’s CEO and co-founder Dan Connors. “Wallace & Gromit has a long history of entertaining people of all ages, and the world Aardman has created is rich with humor and storytelling possibilities.’
Telltale’s new series is one of several upcoming Wallace & Gromit releases. Later this year, the characters will return in a new claymated special titled A Matter of Loaf and Death (formerly called Trouble at Mill), which will air on the BBC around Christmas. The new half-hour outing finds our friends working at a bakery called Top Bun, and Wallace has a new love interest named Piella Bakewell (voice by Sally Lindsay of the British soap Coronation Street). They will have to eventually investigate a strange murder mystery involving disappearing bakers. “I love making films for the cinema, but the production of Chicken Run and Curse of the Were-Rabbit were virtually back-to-back, and each film took five years to complete,” said Park last year.
