GDC Awards Names Pioneer, Ambassador Honorees

The 2009 Game Developers Choice Awards have announced the winners of its Pioneer and Ambassador honors, which will be presented in a ceremony at the Independent Games Festival on March 25 at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.

Receiving the Pioneer award are Harmonix co-founders Alex Rigopulos and Eran Egozy, who co-developed a long line of music games that culminated in the Rock Band franchise.

Taking home the Pioneer Award is Tommy Tallarico, co-founder of the Video Games Live concert series and founder of the Game Audio Network Guild. He is being honored for helping to advance the game audio community.
