Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Game Laying in Wait
This summer, video game publisher Ubi Soft Ent. will release a game based on director Ang Lee’s Academy Award-winning martial arts epic Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. The action/adventure title was developed by Genki Co., Ltd. under license from Sony Pictures Consumer Products. It will ship for PlayStation2 in August.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is a martial arts fighting game that allows players to defy the laws of gravity, just like the characters in the movie. Many of the film’s locations, such as the bamboo forest, the waterfall, the Governors Palace and the streets of Beijing, are also represented.
Players are transported to 19th Century China as their choice of four characters; Li Mu Bai, Yu Shu Lien, Jen Yu, or Lo. Each character possesses specific moves, talents and deadly weapons.
Gameplay involves intricate sword-fighting, hand-to-hand combat and superhuman acrobatics as AI enemies challenge players on the ground, on rooftops, treetops, and in the water.
Ubi Soft China will also develop Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon for the Nintendo GameBoy Advance.
