Atari Spins Beyblade to GBA

One of the most popular new anime series and toy brands comes to handheld gaming as Atari ships Beyblade: Ultimate Blader Jam for Game Boy Advance. Developed by Full Fat, the title features a multiplayer mode and a collection of more than 100 Beyblades to unlock.

In Ultimate Blader Jam, a sinister group is out to steal Bit Beasts from the World Champion Bladebreakers. Gamers can play as Tyson, Kai and other Bladebreakers as they use skill, balance and endurance to defend against the mysterious force.

Licensed by d-rights through its representative Nelvana, Beyblade is the second highest-ranking program with males 6-11 and males 9-14 on ABC Family. The half-hour animated adventure show airs Mondays through Fridays at 7:30 a.m. In addition, Hasbro is marketing customizable, high-performance tops based on the property. To date, more than seven million units have been sold in the U.S. alone.

Next week, Atari will bring another hit anime series to GBA players wth Yu Yu Hakusho: Spirit Detective. Marking the property’s interactive entertainment debut in the U.S., the title will chronicle the first third of the 112-episode animated show about a young man and his struggle for redemption as he battles evil in both the universe of the living and the spirit world.
