Activision Inc. will work directly with DreamWorks to develop and publish video games based on the upcoming sequel to the Oscar-winning 2001 animated smash hit Shrek. Under the terms of the agreement, Activision will have the rights to create console, hand-held and PC games for Shrek 2.
Following Take-Two Interactive Software’s acquisition of TDK Mediactive, Activision has terminated its previously announced co-publishing and co-development agreement with TDK. Additionally, TDK has assigned to Activision all of its rights related to future Shrek films.
Santa Monica, Calif.-based Activision also holds exclusive interactive rights to publish games based on DreamWorks’ upcoming computer-animated feature films Shark Tale, Madagascar, and Over the Hedge.
