A new poster for the much-anticipated adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are has hit the web recently. The Warner Bros. feature has been delayed several times, but it now looks like it will be ready for its October 16 release date.
Directed by innovative helmer and writer Spike Jonze (Adaptation, Being John Malkovich), the film stars Catherine Keener, Max Records, Mark Ruffalo, Lauren Ambrose, James Gandolfini, Catherine O’Hara and Forest Whitaker. Given the fact that the script is penned by Jonez and acclaimed author Dave Eggers (A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, McSweeney’s), filmgoers are expecting a much more imaginative and eccentric product than the usual children’s book property adaptation. The vfx of the feature is handled by Digital Pictures Iloura, Digital Rein, Framestore and Quantum Creations FX.
