Universal Monkeys With Curious Script

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal Pictures and Brian Grazer’s Imagine Ent. have tapped Monsters, Inc. scribes Robert L. Baird and Dan Gerson to rewrite a Curious George CG animated feature. The writing team will be working from a first draft by Michael McCullers.

The film will be based on the popular Curious George series of childrens’ books by H.A. Rey and Margaret Rey. The 60-year-old franchise has been entertaining generations of youngsters with the misadventures of an inquisitive chimp who makes monkey trouble for his human pal, the Man in the Yellow Hat.

Monsters, Inc co-director David Silverman will helm the project for producer Grazer.
