Trailer Hits for Disney’s ‘John Carter’ Adaptation

Disney has released the first trailer showing footage from John Carter, its upcoming adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ classic Barsoom novels.

Here it is:

John Carter is being directed by Andrew Stanton from a screenplay he wrote with Mark Andrews and Michael Chabon. The movie stars Taylor Kitsch as Carter, Lynn Collins as Princess Dejah Thoris and Willem Dafoe as Tars Tarkas, The cast also includes Thomas Haden Church, Samantha Morton, Dominic West, Polly Walker, James Purefoy, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds and Bryan Cranston.

The movie is due out March 9.

    So what is the movie about?? We have 19th century London, then the lead actor dressed as Conan, space ships, Scorpion King battles…I’m lost.
