Spider-Man in 3D, Stan Lee’s Super Seven and Batman Developments

Superhero properties remain as hot as ever, as evidenced by a slew of new announcements for new features an animated projects.

‘ Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment has signed on with Andy Heyward’s A Squared Entertainment on The Super Seven, a digital and print comic book project that also will developed as an animated series. Lee will have an ongoing role as himself in the series, befriending a group of seven alien superheroes who are stranded on Earth.

The Los Angeles Times‘ Hero Complex blog reports that the next DC Universe direct-to-video animated feature will be titled Batman: Under the Red Hood. The project will be written by Judd Winick, who will adapt his popular comic book storyline. The feature will be directed by Brandon Vietti and feature the voices of Bruce Greenwood, Neil Patrick Harris and John DiMaggio.

‘ Sony has confirmed the next Spider-Man movie will be released in 3D on July 3, 2012.

‘ A report on Deadline Hollywood Daily has sources at Warner Bros. saying Christopher Nolan, the director of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, will serve as a mentor for a new Superman movie. Also, Jonah Nolan and David Goyer are working on a script for a follow-up to The Dark Knight.
