Sin City Graphic Novel Inspires Noir Movie

Director Robert Rodriguez has announced the cast of his next project, Sin City, based on the acclaimed graphic novel series by Frank Miller (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns). Variety reports that the maverick director (Spy Kids movies, El Mariachi) has added Benicio Del Toro and Clive Owen (Croupier) to the star-studded cast, which includes Bruce Willis, Brittany Murphy, Josh Hartnett, Mickey Rourke, Nick Stahl, Jessica Alba, Elijah Wood and Carla Gugino.

The Dimension release is a noir thriller, divided into three sections: Sin City, That Yellow Bastard and The Big Fat Kill. The plot centers on a tough guy named Marv who finds the girl of his dreams but is pulled into a nightmarish criminal world after she is found murdered. Rodriguez says he hopes to bring on Quentin Tarantino to direct at least one of the three chapters.
