You may have seen Momma kissing Santa Claus, but this holiday season you’ll see the jolly one like you’ve never seen him before. The Academy Award-nominated team behind the hit Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius is bringing old Khriss Kringle to IMAX theaters in the all-new, actual 3D feature Santa Vs. The Snowman.
See that bowl full of jelly bigger than ever and popping out at you in this firstever 3D animated holiday IMAX film from Steve Oedekerk, writer/director of Ace Ventura 2: When Nature Calls and the man responsible for everybody’s favorite boy genius.
While computer animation is often referred to as 3D, Santa Vs. The Snowman will be the kind of 3D film that requires special glasses. Thrown on a screen eight stories high with 12,000 watts of digital surroundsound, the film will aim to create a highly immersing experience.
In addition to the spectacle of the format, producers promise a "heartwarming, hilarious family story." The plot centers on a lonely snowman swept away by the magical wonders of Santa’s Village, only to become jealous of St. Nick and wage war against him.
Santa Vs. The Snowman will be released in IMAX theaters nationwide beginning Nov. 1.
