Ken Kamins, who structured Peter Jackson’s deals for The Lord of the Rings trilogy and the upcoming remake of King Kong, is stepping into a whole new mythical world. Through his newly-formed management-production company, Key Creatives, Kamins will represent Atlanta-based Fathom Studios and broker the sale of its first theatrical feature, the independently produced CG sci-fi tale, Delgo.
Delgo takes place in a divided land where two civilizations are brought together by an outlawed romance. The all-star voice cast includes Freddie Prinze, Jr., Jennifer Love Hewitt, Anne Bancroft, Val Kilmer, Chris Kattan, Kelly Ripa, Eric Idle, Michael Clarke Duncan, Malcolm McDowell, Burt Reynolds and Lou Gossett, Jr.
Kamins comments, "Delgo represents an entrepreneurial spirit we appreciate. The filmmakers sought and secured their own funding, created and wrote their own story, built their own studio and made the picture happen."
"Key Creatives is a terrific fit for a studio like ours without a West coast presence," says Delgo producer and co-director Marc F. Adler. "Ken Kamins, David Greenblat, Bill Block–they all bring their unique vision and experience to every relationship. They understand the needs of independent producers and their productions."
Still in production, Delgo has created a worldwide following largely due to the Digital Dailies, a message board on the movie’s web site (www.delgo.com). The studios’ production teams post selected works-in-progress on the site, allowing fans to follow the making of the film as it happens.
