According to boxofficemojo.com, Warner Bros.’ trilogy-ender The Matrix: Revolutions debuted behind Star Wars: Episode I–The Phantom Menace and The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers as the third-biggest Wednesday opener ever.

Revolutions brought in $24.3 million on its first day, compared to Menace’s $28.5 million and Towers’ $26.1 million. Jurassic Park III and Men in Black II finish out the top-five mid-week bows with with $19 million and $18.5 million respectively.

While Buena Vista Home Video’s Finding Nemo is swimming atop the home video charts, Disney’s Brother Bear thus ends a brief stint at the top of the box office. Though it took second place to New Line’s comedy Scary Movie 3 over the weekend, Brother Bear rose to the No. 1 spot on Monday and Tuesday with a cume of $22.8 million.
