Oobermind Signs Up Ferrell, Pitt and Hill

Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill have signed up to voice three of the main characters in DreamWorks Animation’s fall 2010 movie Oobermind. Ferrell replaces Robert Downey Jr., originally set to play the lead supervillain who imagines all his dreams coming true after defeating good-guy rival Metro Man (voiced by Pitt), only to find life quite boring without an adversary. Oobermind creates a new superhero named Titan (Hill) to fill the gap, but he also wants to be an evil superhero. The cast also includes Tina Fey who plays the reporter trying to figure out the latest developments in the city’s superhero front.

Madagascar co-director Tom McGrath will be directing the movie, which is produced by Lara Breay and Denise Nolan Cascino. Ferrell’s previous toon credits include the TV series The Oblongs and Curious George, while Pitt voiced the titular character in DreamWorks’ Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas. Fey’s voice can also be heard in Disney’s English-language dub of Ponyo, and Hill has one of the lead roles in DreamWorks 2010 movie, How to Train Your Dragon. The studio will also release Shrek Forever After in 2010.
