The 20th Century Fox thriller Taken, starring Liam Neeson, topped the domestic box office on Super Bowl weekend, raking in $24.6 million on its opening weekend, reports the website Box Office Mojo.
The Kevin James comedy Paul Blart: Mall Cop continued its strong performance, coming in second place after two weekends in the No. 1 spot. Its $14 million weekend gross brings its total to $83 million.
Horror newcomer The Uninvited made its debut in third place with $10.5 million. Hotel for Dogs‘ $8.7 million was good enough for fourth place, while Clint Eastwood’s Gran Torino was just behind with $8.6 million.
