George Lucas is bringing Lucas Digital, LucasArts Ent., Lucas Licensing and Lucasfilm Ltd. under one roof as a single dynamic entertainment company. In addition, Lucasfilm president Gordon Radley is stepping down after more than 17 years with the company, citing a desire to pursue personal and professional priorities.
Lucasfilm CFO Micheline Chau has been promoted to the post of COO of the new unified company, while Lucas remains chairman of the board and CEO of Lucasfilm Ltd., the film and television production/distribution arm.
Lucas Digital Ltd. LLC encompasses multi-Academy Award-winning visual effects shop Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), as well as Skywalker Sound. Lucas Arts Entertainment Company LLC develops and publishes interactive entertainment software for computer and console platforms, while Lucas Licensing Ltd. manages all domestic and international merchandising activities of the Star Wars and Indiana Jones properties.
