LEGO Movie Clicks at Warner Bros.

With toys becoming the latest option craze at Hollywood studios, it should surprise no one that Warner Bros. has signed a deal to develop a LEGO movie.

According to Variety, the movie will be a mix of live-action and animation. Brothers Dan and Kevin Hageman have been hired to write the script. They also wrote Hotel Transylvania for Sony Pictures Animation.

Dan Lin of Lin Pictures, and Roy Lee and Doug Davison of Vertigo, will produce the movie. The producers also are working on a movie based on the manga series Death Note for the studio.

The classic toys from Denmark have been popular with kids and adults of all ages around the world since the 1950s.

An animated LEGO film would follow in the footsteps of several successful LEGO videogames, such as LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Batman and LEGO Rock Band.
