LAIKA’s ‘ParaNorman’ Continues Spooky Reign

LAIKA’s well-received stop-motion feature ParaNorman did respectable business at the box office during its second weekend of release, with an estimated $8.6 million. Directed by Chris Butler and Sam Fell, the zombie-filled family movie now has a $28.3 million domestic cume and a $36 million worldwide total since its release on August 17th.

Fox/Blue Sky’s Ice Age: Continental Drift continues to wow them both domestically and overseas. The fourth installment of the popular prehistoric animal saga made another $1.7 million stateside, bringing its domestic total to $153.4 million and $814.4 million globally.

The next big dates for animated titles are September 14 for Disney’s release of Pixar’s Finding Nemo in 3-D, September 28 for Sony Animation’s Hotel Transylvania and October 5 for Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie.
