Mowgli and his jungle pals dare to take on a comic book superhero at the box office this weekend. Disney’s big-screen sequel to the beloved animated classic The Jungle Book 2 opens today, as does Twentieth Century Fox’s adaptation of Marvel Comics’ Daredevil.
In The Jungle Book 2, wild child Mowgli (Haley Joel Osment) lives in the village with humans but longs to see his bear buddy, Baloo (John Goodman). When he sneaks away to the jungle, the villainous tiger, Shere Kahn (Tony Jay), sees his opportunity to take revenge and the chase is on.
The Jungle Book 2 was written by Karl Geurs and directed by Steve Trenbirth. Christopher Chase and Mary Thorne produced.
Featuring visual effects by Rhythm & Hues, Pixel Magic and Digital Domain, Daredevil stars Ben Affleck as the title crime fighter with super senses that compensate for his lack of sight. The film, directed by Mark Steven Johnson, also stars Jennifer Garner, Colin Farrell, Coolio, Michael Clark Duncan, Joe Pantoliano and director Kevin Smith.
