Jackson Video Offers Peek at ‘Hobbit’ Production

For fans of J.R.R. Tolkein’s The Hobbit, the wait for a movie version has been a long time coming. No one knows this better than Peter Jackson, the director who has begun production on the first of a two-part adaptation down in his home nation of New Zealand.

To mark the beginning of production on the film, Jackson has posted on his official Facebook page a 10-minute behind the scenes look at the work to date on the movie. Check it out.

We’d love to know what you think of Jackson returning to Tolkein’s world and how you think the advances in animation and visual effects since The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King will affect the final film.

Love it! I can’t wait to see it. I wish Del Toro could have still been involved, but it’s good Jackson picked up the reigns again.
