IMDB reports that Indiana Jones actor Harrison Ford is in talks to lend his voice to a movie version of HIT’s popular kids’ TV series Bob The Builder.
A builder himself, Ford worked as a carpenter in Hollywood before George Lucas cast him as Han Solo in Star Wars.
The 61-year-old father of four was reportedly urged to take the role by girlfriend Calista Flockhart (Ally McBeal), whose two-year-old adopted son, Liam, is a huge fan of the show. Viacom, distributor of the American version of British stop-motion program, apparently offered the role to Ford after the actor mentioned the show was one of his favorites as well.
Ford, who took over the role of Jack Ryan from Alec Baldwin in two feature film versions of Tom Clancy Books, may be following in the elder Baldwin brother’s footsteps again. Baldwin took a starring role in the theatrically released Thomas The Tank Engine feature Thomas and the Magic Railroad (2000).
