Eleven Arts Anime Studio has announced the US English-language dub cast for the historical adventure Haikara-San: Here Comes Miss Modern, arriving in theaters nationwide on June 8.
Leading the new voice lineup are Mimi Torres (Sleeping Dogs, Fallout 4) as Benio Hanamura, Robbie Daymond (A Silent Voice, Digimon Adventure tri. 5) as Shinobu Ijuin, Keith Silverstein (Overwatch, Persona 5) as Tosei Aoe, Kirk Thornton (Naruto, Samurai Champloo) as Shingo Onijima, and Cristina Vee (Sailor Moon, Tiger and Bunny: The Rising) as Tamaki Kitakoji.
Synopsis: During the Taisho era of 1918, 17-year-old Benio Hanamura thrives on bucking tradition. As a boisterous and quarrelsome tomboy, Miss Hanamura leads a life of kendo and tree-climbing adventure with her best friends Tamaki and Ranmaru. Benio determines to find love on her own, though her family has other plans. Benio will encounter tests of love, independence, and friendship during wartime.
Based on the best-selling manga by Waki Yamato, Haikara-San is directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi (Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn; Rurouni Kenshin-Romantan), who also wrote the screenplay. The Nippon Animation production also features character designs by Terumi Nishii (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable) and cinematography by Kazuya Takao (Sailor Moon Crystal).
