GKids Grabs French Toon ‘Le Tableau’

Distributor GKids has acquired the U.S. rights for the Blue Spirit Animation / Be-Films co-production Le Tableau (The Painting), the acclaimed CG film from director Jean-Francois Laguionie. Le Tableau had its international premiere at the New York Children’s Film Festival, which is produced by GKids, on Sunday.

The film was released in France and Belgium on March 8 and has been widely applauded by film critics for its innovative story—written by Laguionie and Anik Leray—and artistic approach. Le Tableau follows the adventures different races of painted beings in various styles and stages of completion as they search for answers within their canvas world.
