Tim Burton’s new version of Alice in Wonderland has finished shooting, and the release of the first photos from the film promise an engaging and fascinating visual exerpeince.
Due March 5, 2010, Burton’s version of the classic tale is actually a sequel, producer Richard Zanuck told USA Today, with the character of Alice returning to Wonderland at age 17 not having remembered her visit seven years earlier. The film will be in 3-D and is a mix of live-action, motion-capture creatures and CG-animation.
The film stars Mia Wasikowska as Alice, and features frequent Burton collaborators Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter and Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen. Anne Hathaway also appears in the film as The White Queen.
