At long last, we get to see the first trailer for Fantastic Mr. Fox, Wes Anderson’s much-awaited adaptation of Roald Dahl’s popular children’s book. Scheduled to open on November 13, the 20th Century Fox feature seems to deliver a very retro stop-motion animation style (and we couldn’t be happier!). Anderson, who is great at creating whimsical movies with amazing art design such as Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums also experimented with animation in 2004′s The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.
The film’s animation director is Mark Gustafson, a Will Vinton Studio veteran who directed the acclaimed short Mr. Resistor as well as the series The PJs.
The voice cast is also quite impressive: George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Owen Wilson, Bill Murray, Willem Dafoe, Anjelica Huston, Michael Gambon, Jason Schwartzman, and Adrien Brody all lend their voices to a story about an epic battle between three greedy farmers and a clever fox who outwits them all. The film’s score is composed by Alexandre Desplat (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Queen).
