L.A.-based Exodus Film Group will team up with Paris-based Sparx Animation Studios to deliver its upcoming feature Bunyan & Babe. According to Variety, Sparx will begin work on the feature next month, handling modeling, rigging, animation, texturing, writing and vfx. Exodus president Max Howard said that Kelsey Grammer has joined the voice cast as a nefarious property developer. John Goodman and Eddie Griffin will be the voices of Bunyan and Babe.
The feature, which is slated for 2009, will be co-directed by Tony Bancroft (Mulan) and vfx master Jim Rygiel (The Lord of the Rings trilogy). The plot centers on two children who discover the whereabouts of Paul Bunyan and his famous blue ox while staying at their grandfather’s farm in Minnesota.
Exodus and Sparx also worked together on the upcoming Igor feature, which will be released on September 19 by The Weinstein Co.
