Dobby: Putin’s Doppleganger?

The L.A. Times reports that the Russian, Italian and German media are lending coverage to the supposed physical resemblance between Dobby, digital house elf from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Legal action may be forthcoming from a group of Russian lawyers who claim the film’s creators intentionally used Putin as a model for Dobby.

According to Radio Free Europe, an online poll revealed that more than 75% of respondents saw an uncanny likeness. Others think the claims are just a bunch of Hogwarts.
