Yet another update on casting for the independent CG animated feature Delgo, being produced by Atlanta, Georgia-based Fathom Studios. Movie icon Burt Reynolds has come aboard this fantasy adventure set in an alien world. The Golden Globe winner joins a star-studded voice cast including Jennifer Love Hewitt, Val Kilmer, Michael Clarke Duncan, Chris Kattan, Eric Idle and Lou Gossett, Jr.
Reynolds, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in the 1997 hit Boogie Nights, is voicing Delgo’s boisterous Father. In a release, the actor comments, “I am very proud to be a part of the first animated film being produced in my home state of Georgia.”
The world of animation is nothing new to Reynolds, who voiced the role of Charlie B. Barkin in Don Bluth’s and Gary Goldman’s 1989 animated feature, All Dogs Go to Heaven. More recently, he hammed it up in the role of Avery Carrington for the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City from Rockstar Games and Take 2 Interactive.
Delgo is the first theatrical production from Fathom Studios. The takes place in a divided land where a troubled youth and some unlikely friends must save the world from itself.
