BAFTA Awards Honor ‘Toy Story 3,’ ‘Inception’

Toy Story 3 took home yet another major honor, earning the Best Animated Feature prize at the BAFTA Awards. The British film group also nominated DreamWorks Animation’s How To Train Your Dragon and Illumination Entertainment’s Despicable Me for the race.

In the short animation category, Michael Please’s The Eagleman Stag beat out David Prosser’s Matter Fisher and Matthias Hoegg’s Thursday.

Michael Arndt’s script for Toy Story 3 was beaten out by Aaron Sorkin’s work on The Social Network for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Toy Story 3 also lost the Best Special Visual Effects race to Inception. The Christopher Nolan movie also won for Best Sound and Best Production Design.

The King’s Speech dominated the awards, taking home seven trophies including Best Film.
