While Ignacio Ferreras’ acclaimed animation effort Arrugas (Wrinkles) has yet to find a U.S. distributor, lucky SoCal audiences can catch the 2D adaptation of Paco Roca’s graphic novel during a special screening run at the Laemmle Fallbrook 7, starting this Friday, December 9 through December 15.

Produced by Spain’s Perro Verde Films and Cromosoma, the touching film explores the friendship between two elderly men in a retirement home—Miguel, a mischievous and cynical, childless man; and Emilio, a soft-spoken fellow who is placed in the home by his son who is exasperated by the effects of Emilio’s encroaching Alzheimer’s disease.

ASIFA and AMPAS members can see Arrugas for free during the engagement. The Laemmle Fallbrook 7 is located at 6731 Fallbrook Ave in West Hills, CA. Visit www.laemmle.com or call (310) 478-3836 for more information or to purchase tickets.
