Animated Flick from Chile in Best Foreign Film Race

While a total of 17 films vie for Best Animated Feature nominations for the 75th Academy Awards, the animated Ogu y Mampato en Rapa Nui, will be Chile’s official entry in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

Directed by Alejandro Rojas and produced by Juan Diego Garretón, the traditionally animated film is based on a popular ’70s comic strip by Themo Lobo. Th story follows the adventures of a young boy and his caveman companion on Easter Island.

A record 54 countries are in competition for Best Foreign Language Film noms this year.
