Women in Animation Wants to Help You Get a Job

The secrets of successful interviewing and job survival will be revealed at the next Women in Animation general meeting, presented by WIA Los Angeles, on April 24, 2003 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at at Klasky Csupo at 6353 Sunset Blvd, Hollywood CA 90028.

What do recruiters and employers want to see in a resume? In a portfolio? On a demo reel? How can you be sure yours stands out so you get the interview? How can you make sure you don’t blow the interview? WIA hopes to answer all these questions and more as they welcome panelists Lia Abbate, recruitment representative for Walt Disney Television Animation and Disney Toons Studio; Carol Brickner, director of human resources at EALA; Caroline Campbell, co-founder/CEO of Big Thumb Studios; and Rachelle Lewis, director of recruitment for Klasky Csupo.

The panel discussion will be moderated by recruiter/hiring strategist/career coach Pamela Kleibrink Thompson.

Networking will begin at 6:30 followed by the program at 7:00 on Thursday, April 24. The event is free to members of Women in Animation and $10 for non-members. Non-members who sign up on-site and pay the $50 annual membership fee do not have to pay the $10 non-member fee. Student membership fees are $25.
