Women In Animation Explores “Women Creating Women”
The next meeting of Women In Animation (WIA) will be held in celebration of the organization’s tenth anniversary. The event will be held on Thursday, April 22, at Art Institute of Los Angeles. On the program are a special presentation of Disney’s Oscar-nominated short Destino and a panel discussion with leading female artists, producers, directors and mentors in the animation industry.
In addition to the Destino screening, WIA hopes to have producer Baker Bloodworth on hand to talk about the collaboration between Disney and Dali that has been 50 years in the making.
Moderated by Animation Magazine publisher and WIA founder Rita Street, the “Women Creating Women” panel will include Stephanie Graziano, Marge Dean, Lorna Cook, Christine Panushka, Linda Miller and, schedule permitting, the one and only June Foray.
Reception and networking will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the program following at 7 p.m. Admission is free to WIA members and $10 for non-members.
The Art Institute of Los Angeles is located at 2900 31st Street (at Ocean Park). RSVP by calling (818) 759-9596 or e-mailing email@example.com.
