Of these films, four — The Dreams of Jinsha, The Illusionist, Summer Wars and Tangled — have yet to have their qualifying theatrical run. Tangled is set for release Nov. 24, The Illusionist on Dec. 25, Summer Wars has a qualifying run set for December and a similar release is expected for The Dreams of Jinsha.

Pixar’s Toy Story 3 and How to Train Your Dragon are widely expected to take two of the slots, leaving the third nomination open for any number of scenarios.

The nominations will be announced Jan. 25, with the winners announced at the 83rd annual Academy Awards on Feb. 27.
