CG animation was very much in vogue at the 67th Golden Globe Awards, with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association giving top honors to the Disney-Pixar animated film Up and James Cameron’s Avatar.
Up won the best animated feature, beating out Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox and The Princess and the Frog for the honor. Michael Giacchino also won for Up by taking home the Best Original Score award for his work on the film.
Avatar, meanwhile, took the award for Best Motion Picture ‘ Drama and Best Director for Cameron.
The wins add momentum to the Oscars hopes of both the 3-D films.
No animated programs were nominated in any of the Golden Globes television categories.
The nominees and winners of the Golden Globes are decided by the voting member of the HFPA.
