‘Toy Story 3′ Up for Three BAFTA Awards

Toy Story 3 has been nominated for three BAFTA Awards: best animated feature. best adapted screenplay and best visual effects.

In the best animated screenplay, the Disney-Pixar film will go up against Illumination Entertainment’s Despicable Me and DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon.

In the adapted screenplay category, Michael Arndt’s script for Toy Story 3 will compete with 127 Hours, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Social Network and True Grit.

The other contenders for the visual effects award are: Alice in Wonderland, Black Swan, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Inception.

Three films were nominated for best animtaed short: The Eagleman Stag, directed by Michael Please; Matter Fisher, directed by David Prosser; and Thursday, directed by Matthias Hoegg.

The winners will be announced Feb. 13 at a ceremony at the Royal Opera House in London.
