TCM Plans Special Chuck Jones Tribute

Turner Class Movies is presenting a wonderful eight-hour tribute to toon legend Chuck Jones on March 24, the day it premieres Peggy Stern’s acclaimed documentary Chuck Jones: Memories of Childhood. Featuring original animated segments by John Canemaker based on Jones’ drawings, this 26-minute special offers never-before-seen footage of the animator talking about his family life and tough experiences in 1920s L.A. and recalls events and personalities that shaped his life and creative spirit. Conducted by Canemaker and Stern, the interview was conducted only a short time before Jones’ death in 2002. Stern was also the writer and producer of Canemaker’s Oscar-winning short The Moon and the Son: An Imagined Conversation.
