REDCAT Fest Brings World of Kids Films to downtown L.A.

The REDCAT International Children’s Film Festival kicks off four consecutive weekends of short films from around the world March 26 at the REDCAT Theater at Disney Hall in downtown Los Angeles.

Presented by CalArts in partnership with the Northwest Film Form, the festival will show more than 100 animated and live-action films hand-picked and organized for groups of children as young as 2 years old.

The event will include March 27 a special Nick Family  Fun Day. All tickets are $5 per screening

The festival schedule is as follows:

Saturday, March 26

  • Noon: Tally Ho: Films that Fly High (All ages.)
  • 1:30 p.m.: Legends Come Alive (Ages 7 and up.)
  • 3 p.m.: Family Matters (Ages 9 and up.)

Sunday, March 27 — Nick Family Fun Day

  • Noon: Nick Jr. (Ages 2 to 6.)
  • 3 p.m.: Nickelodeon (Ages 7 and up.)

Saturday, April 2

  • Noon:  All Creatures Great and Small (Ages 3 and up.)
  • 1:30 p.m.: Indigenous Showcase (Ages 9 and up.)
  • 3 p.m.: Round the World and Home Again (Ages 8 and up.)

Sunday, April 3

  • Noon: Into the Woods and Under the Sea (Ages 7 and up.)
  • 1:30 p.m.: Once Upon an Adventure (Ages 7 and up.)
  • 3 p.m.: Goosebumps Galore (Ages 8 and up.)

Saturday, April 9

  • Noon: Joe Chang and Friends (Ages 7 and up.) (Screened in conjunction with Between Disorder and Unexpected Pleasures: Tales from the New Chinese Cinema, April 6–9)

Sunday, April 10

  • Noon: Tally Ho: Films that Fly High (All ages.)
  • 1:30 p.m.: Indigenous Showcase (Ages 9 and up.)

Saturday, April 16

  • Noon: Into the Woods and Under the Sea (Ages 7 and up.)
  • 1:30 p.m.: Round the World and Home Again (Ages 8 and up.)
  • 3 p.m.: Joe Chang and Friends (Ages 7 and up.)

Sunday, April 17

  • Noon: All Creatures Great and Small (Ages 3 and up.)
  • 1:30 p.m.:Legends Come Alive (Ages 7 and up.)
  • 3 p.m.: Family Matters (Ages 9 and up.)
