O’Reilly’s ‘External World’ Earns Honorable Mention at Sundance

Animator David O’Reilly’s The External World has earned an honorable mention from the jury at the Sundance Film Festival.

The film was the only animated mention made by the jury, which singled out Brick Novax pt 1 and 2 for the Jury Prize in Short Filmmaking and the Australian entry Deeper than Yesterday for the Jury Prize in International Short Filmmaking.

The External World was one of six films receiving an honorable mention.

The short film jurors are: Barry Jenkins (director, writer, Medicine for Melancholy); Kim Morgan (film and culture writer, Sunset Gun, The Hitlist) and Sara Bernstein (VP, HBO Documentary films; supervising producer, Baghdad ER, White Light, Black Rain: The Destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki).

The External World has earned accolades at numerous festivals, including Venice and Ottawa. Here is a look at the trailer for for the film.
